Taken at the St. Louis Museum of Transportation. This is a Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe steam locomotive. Numbered 5011, it was built in 1944 at a cost of $264,681. They built them big. This a a oil-burner and the largest ever used on a 2-10-4. It accumulated nearly 725,000 miles. At the museum, you can climb up into the cab of the locomotive and ring the bell. Donated in 1962.
